Now that the shock of the mall at Columbus Circle has subsided and the glaring critics’ reviews have already either made or broken the myriad of restaurants inside, it is time to make another visit to New York’s new landmark, if not for the sticky buns at Bouchon Bakery, than for the Lobster Croque Monsieur and the private dining room, with its celebrated views of Central Park South, at Cafe Gray. In contrast to the highly ornate main dining room, the private room is toned down with soft, elegant hues and offers seating for up to fifty people for personal or corporate events, where you can begin the day with a classic Swiss breakfast or end it while dining on Kunz’s signature short ribs with mustard sauce.
